“I enjoy this podcast very much, but I find the host's vocal style a little grating. I love the content and it is very well researched. Unfortunately she has a habit of clicking her tongue after she makes a statement or finishes a paragraph (every 15 seconds or so) and I find it super distracting. The long pauses between sentences are frequently lengthy enough to have me checking my phone for the podcast having stopped in error. Perhaps some post-production editing to remove some of these would be worthwhile to improve the podcast's overall flow. I also wish she would be a little more empathetic with her delivery. She often sounds like she is smiling as she is talking and will make inappropriate jokes, which is disappointing considering the subject matter.Tthe long diatribes about her own life experiences are ok once in a while, but too frequently they tend to be not only irrelevant to the issue at hand (her fears about planes hitting her house during an episode about a mudslide?) but lengthy as well. I often find myself skipping these tangents as I find them distracting as well. Again, great idea, great (when relevant) content and despite my criticism I won't be unsubscribing just yet. Hopefully some improvements will come as the podcast matures.”Read full review »

“I'm a retired firefighter and arson investigator. This is a very well done series. My disaster experience includes working during hurricanes and, of course, fires. I can't say enough good things about this podcast. It's easily one of, if not the, best I've listened to.”Read full review »
