Well researched!
Just discovered this podcast a few days ago and I've listened to almost all of the episodes. It's very refreshing that the host does a lot of research on each topic (reading books and watching documentaries) rather than just reading through the wiki article. Thorough lead-up and background is provided for each incident. Also very enjoyable that the host has a more conversational way of talking rather than sounding like she's reading off a script. The range of topics is fascinating, but I appreciate that the host is respectful of the topics and victims, and doesn't sensationalize the stories. I'd love to hear a Canadian-based topic - might I suggest the Halifax Explosion or the SS Noronic Fire? Keep up the fantastic work! Edit: A couple months after posting this review, I felt compelled to come back and further praise the host, Jennifer Materese. Her honesty is so touching and I truly appreciate how open she is with her listeners. The Upstairs Lounge Fire episode brought me to tears.Read full review »

I would love this podcast if the podcaster worked with a voice coach a bit. The rise and fall and underlying tone of her voice leaves us to sense that she feels as if SHE were there to do things right, (Her way) no such disaster would happen. It's easy to tsk tsk in hindsight.Read full review »

One of the few podcasts that I support financially. Every episode is a topic of interest for me. I enjoy Jennifer's enthusiasm for detail. This podcast is a well researched exploration of historical disasters. So happy there is no episode time limit here - she is a great storyteller.Read full review »
