thank you…
I have been dieting since I was about ten, which means I've been struggling with body image BS for about 30 years. In the past few years, I've worked with people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. I started thinking of my eating disorder in those terms. I started bulimia when I was 15, but I haven't "purged" since my mid-twenties. But, I think about it every day. I am obsessed with my body and with food. I know those who struggle with addiction struggle every day, i.e. "Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic." I've been thinking, "Once a bulimic, always a bulimic." It was a sad realization, and I thought it was true. But listening to Summer, I think I might have hope. Maybe I can get rid of this mindset. Maybe I won't always have a bulimic mindset. Maybe I won't always be disgusted with my body, no matter how big I am (I'm a big fluctuator!). I am so excited to find these.Read full review »
