“I first found this podcast and became quickly addicted, listening to as many episodes as I could get my hands on. And then after a while I began to find that these two are the kids I went to film school with, whom wanted to find the “deeper meaning” in any film, you could show them Sponge Bob and they’d want to cut it to shreds on its “purpose” and “nuance”. They don’t seem to take movies that should be fun as just that, fun. They often talk about Empire Strikes Back as a favorite, but I’d have to believe that if Empire were made today, they’d rip that apart too. Even films they seem to enjoy, all they can seem to talk about is what they didn’t like about it, to the point where that’s most of the review. And often end their reviews with “we might be the only ones that feel this way.” They’re not the only ones that feel that way, but not EVERY movie or film has to have deep meaning and nuance, some times they can just be a romp. Not a bad podcast by any means, it’s professionally done. But even Roger Ebert gives some positive reviews.”Read full review »
