“If movie critic duos could be likened to religious philosophies then Adam and Sam of 'Cinecast" might well embody the Buddhist 'Middle Path' of balance and harmony. Allow me to elaborate. They are on the one hand prolific consumers of cinematic offerings, past and present, and certainly have a great deal more experience than the average movie-goer. This is countered by their relative unfamiliarity with certain classics, genres and directors (eg. "Gandhi," westerns, and Alfred Hitchcock), which might be sacrilege in the eyes of the Eberts and Roepers of the world but here allows the audience a chance to evolve an appreciation of these not as-of-yet experienced pleasures along with our hosts. Furthermore, for while Sam and Adam (or is it Adam and Sam?) are often loathe to check out the latest blockbuster popcorn-muncher or Rob Schnieder vehicles in favor of art-house and indie fare, the pods which they cast so expertly, regularly and often-ly nevertheless lack all traces of pretension or snobbery. When you agree with them, you come away with a deeper appreciation of the film in question. When you disagree with them, you may in a futile gesture attempt to argue the point with your unsympathetic MP3 player or an unfortunate friend/family member/coworker/random passerby until you’re blue in the face…and yet you’ll still come away with a deeper appreciation of the film in question. They’re that engaging, witty, intelligent, and perhaps most important of all, humble. Give them a shot, won’t you?”Read full review »

“I've been listening to Adam and Sam since the early days, and they never cease to amaze me with their ability to analyze a film and articulate things I had trouble articulating while watching it. The show isn't a "film critic" show in the way you're used to. Adam and Sam...”Read full review »

“I was so excited to find this podcast. I recently lost my faith in movie reviewing podcasts after giving up on Ebert and Roeper because I couldn't stand the fact that they basically trashed every movie they reviewed accept for the truely awful ones which they worshiped. Don't get me...”Read full review »
