S5-E2 || Niamh Bridson-Hubbard || Athlete Mentality Or The Sport - What Needs To Change? Intrinsic vs extrinsic motivators on performance and enjoyment
Description
GB International cross country runner and Cambridge University student Niamh Bridson-Hubbard joins the podcast to talk all things success and the sport.
Whilst juggling rigorous academics Niamh has slowly and steadily continued to rise through the ranks, in particular over the past few years. Naturally Niamh shares her training and personal reflections around her running journey, including how certain changes in her life have enabled her to begin to tap into her full potential. But this episode also has a wider meaning, hosting an insightful and thought provoking discussion around the sport itself. How can the current structure of the sport potentially change to see increased sustained health for female athletes, longevity within the sport, and more senior level success.
Lots to learn from and think about here.
