Chips on their shoulders, and not the edible kind.
I used to love listening to this podcast. The chemistry between Lauren and Annie is fantastic and it was like hanging out with friends while learning so much about the science and history of food. However, they’ve started editorializing so much on controversial issues that one can hardly get through an episode without some self-righteous diatribe. Sure, if the history of a certain food comes with baggage, I have no issues with that. But the majority of the comments they make regarding those issues come out of left field. It’s a podcast about food, something all of humanity have in common. Why stir the pot?
