Fantastic.
I adore Pearl Mackie so, when I found out that this podcast was on BBC Sounds, I was over the moon! I didn’t even download Sounds, I just tapped onto the Apple Podcasts app and looked it up. Forest 404 is incredible. One episode in and I’m already hooked! I won’t spill any of the plot but all I can say is everything is so well put together and polished until it shines. You’re put straight in the shoes of Pea— no, sorry.. the protagonist. (I can’t remember her name, oops!) It switches between Daria and Pearl (Just gonna call her Pearl..) so well with their thoughts and what’s going through their heads. Everything is SO good! I also love the idea of adding the soundscapes so I can just close my eyes and listen to whale song and rainforests. Perfect! This podcast is THE best. Listen, please, and bless yourself.

I’m on my third listen. I love all three parts—fiction, sounds, and science/philosophy. Thank you, BBC.

I have never written a review before but I LOVED this series. The combination of the story, talks and soundscapes is so original and immersive. The sound episodes by Bonobo were my favourite, so rich and wonderful. I hope they do another series!
