I especially love how they played “Lulu’s back in town” at the end of Toni Morrison’s interview. I had an Aunt Lulu so I remember that song and it just tied the interview together in a neat little bow. Bravo!!

I get it. Making out-of-touch rich people feel uncomfortable can be entertaining, challenging your subject, etc. But it feels like it’s more than that, like the hosts genuinely enjoy pushing and testing their subject’s media training. Had to unsubscribe.

I love to listen to Terry Gross. She is a great interviewer. I do love that they include interviews from 20 years ago.

I cant believe even this podcast has joined in on the constant attacks against Bernie. What a disgrace. Youve lost a longtime fan, but sorry NPR, we wont forget those who tried to silence our revolution. Unprofessional journalism should be avoided at all costs, yet the bias opinions here are too...Read full review »

I enjoy listening most of the time. I think Terry asks and answers the question intended for the guest. She tells them what they do rather than letting them tell their own story. I would be frustrated as a guest on this show.

The original content is great. I don’t know who curates this podcast (at least on the Apple podcast venue) but they somehow don’t realize how annoying it is AFTER EVERY SINGLE EPISODE to get a “BEST OF:” featuring the interview you just listened to pop up in your “to listen” feed. Makes no sense....Read full review »

Growing up, Terry Gross (Fresh Air), played at 3 pm on our local station. Sometimes we would be late for swim practice because the whole minivan would be having a parking garage moment. Thank you, Terry, for a lifelong addiction to NPR!

Dear Terry, I love your show. I think it’s been one of the most insightful programs allowing people to understand the daily “going-ons” in this day and age. I would like to suggest a couple of things. Recently, I heard one of your shows in which there was a mother, I think it’s Marie Heller,...Read full review »

Adam Cohen sounds like a snob. His attitude was lugubrious. Teri had to work very hard to get past his arrogance to pull some great stories.

There’s nobody better interviewing on the radio than Terry Gross. Combine her with a wide range of guests and topics and this program never fails to deliver. The way Terry continues to mishandle interviews surrounding Me Too and sexual assault is horribly uncomfortable. From Tig Notaro to Reese Witherspoon, it’s impossible to listen to Terry make these women squirm and treat them with barely a modicum of decency.

I love this podcast - Terry Gross is always prepared for the interview, having read the book or listened to the music, which allows her to ask more than just surface questions. She does it all while making it sound spontaneous.

In this era of alternative news and the upside down, it is refreshing and comforting to hear these interviews, no matter what the topic. We learn so much. Insights, the depth of research, and questions for guests help keep us grounded, centered.

I have to say the interview with Adam Cohen, son of Leonard Cohen was so great. The younger Cohen’s refusal to read his father’s poetry was so enjoyable. Terry Gross’s frustration was so palpable. That makes for great radio.

The Steele Dossier interview really wrecked Fresh Air for me. The blatant bias and narrative leading questions were obvious. Fluff questions with the intention of demeaning Trump versus a truly objective discussion. It is as if Terry Gross leads the interview to accomplish a predetermined outcome...Read full review »

Emily Bazelon’s interview with Terry is fantastic! It’s super interesting, educational, and answered so many crucial questions! The answers are frightening and made my blood boil about the abuses of power of this administration and future ones.

Terry likes to tell her guests all about themselves or the subject they are there to talk about. Then she asks a question to get a short answer before she again talks a lot about what the guest should be addressing.
