Because of some journalists desire to “entertain” - if you count entertainment as adding sensationalized heat to complex issues, rather than impartial light. I found some of the reports, where I had reasonable knowledge , to be sensationalized. The most recent example is the report that the...Read full review »

Always interesting, well delivered, and wonderful to hear stories that go beyond the headlines and take us to places we do not hear enough about elsewhere on the news. One of my standard weekend podcasts!

You have sped up your podcast so much that the correspondents sound like Alvin in places.

Please can you ask your correspondents to slow down their reports because it’s doing my head in . What’s with the speed ? I’m 64 years old and cannot keep up. Oh for the days of Charles Wheeler and David Willey. Their precise speech is much missed.

Lazy use of cliches delivered with obvious BBC left wing bias. Choice of stories to report each week bordering on leftist propaganda.

As much as I enjoy From Our Own Correspondent, I think 2 a week is just too much to keep up with. Duncan

An elegant show that lets reporters tell extraordinary first-person narratives, in their own words. Often sad, terrifying and occasionally mysterious and funny. Always intriguing. What a splendid piece of light hearted radio reporting on Slasher the chicken with attitude. Given that Slasher’s medical bills seem likely to exceed the worth of her dubious egg production by many times it was a story of love even if not appreciated by Slasher. And, also, what a delightful...Read full review »

It’s always a pleasure to listen to these well-written, well thought pieces. The form of the pieces is not the average radio news, it’s long form reportage - and it somehow works very well on this medium too. Great program.

I listen to a wide range of podcasts but FOOC is my favourite. I love the range of countries included; The time given to each contribution ; the in-depth incisiveness of their topics. Often a detailed close focus, one aspect of a major story. Give it a try

This podcast has fantastic breadth of coverage. It is riveting to get a taste of so many cultures as the correspondents share their most compelling thoughts and stories. It is like each of their many seasoned correspondents has been given the mike to share their greatest (recent) hit.

I enjoy this show especially because it tells stories from a different more personal perspectives of the correspondents. We get to learn more about the locations that the correspondents are covering. Stories that may not be relevant in the news day but are still fascinating and informative.
