I look forward to the dispatches from correspondents around the word. I call them ‘news that is not really news’. I really miss ‘From Our Home Correspondent’ and hope the BBC will resume transmission soon

My favourite BBC news cast. Nothing like getting it from the man on the spot.

I love FOOC and have listened for many years but lately the Kate Adie segues have some very painful sibilance. Keep up the good work though! Please don’t stop.

I used to use this as a way of keeping a sense of perspective & balance with the rest of the world. Recently though I have found some of the reporters somewhat self-absorbed and sometimes voyeuristic, which makes me uncomfortable.

I love this program. I do enjoy a little break from the super heavy international episodes from time to time though. Do you folks not do the Home Correspondent installments anymore?

It is good to have a wider view of the world and to go back after the world media has left .How are real people coping after a disaster ?or how ordinary people live there every day life .

Love the perspective of the journalist living in the parts of the world they are living in. Shows the other side of the news and really gives context. Love it.

•EPISODE: “A Taliban show of force in Afghanistan”, in which, disappointingly, one of the BBC’s best journalists refers to a “20-year anniversary”.

This makes me saddened 😭

I love hearing news and stories from all over the world. This podcast manages to be bitesized, yet still has in-depth, well researched coverage of international issues. Wish the news from USA covered global issues like this.

this used to be one of my favourite podcasts to hear rare stories from around the world. unfortunately now it has devolved into straight propaganda in service of the fear state with no originality.

As an expat FOOC being available through podcasts is not only a wonderful reconnection with Radio 4 - but a welcome prism to real, reliable reporting.

This superb episode begins with a lucid description of the foggy chaos of today’s Zimbabwe, crystallised in the ghastly incident of three young women mocked and tortured, arrested and brutalised merely for having participated in a protest march. I’ve if them is an MP. It continues with a report...Read full review »

Because of some journalists desire to “entertain” - if you count entertainment as adding sensationalized heat to complex issues, rather than impartial light. I found some of the reports, where I had reasonable knowledge , to be sensationalized. The most recent example is the report that the...Read full review »
