'From Our Own Correspondant' is unique in its style of broadcasting. The BBC, under its charter is obliged to provide a balanced newspiece, and therefore the amount of journalistic license allowed is restricted on ordinary news reports. FOOC is designed to allow journalists to say exactly what they think about the people, places and events in the news - and the programme provides the listener with a unique insight into the real situation. The journalists features are some of the most respected in the world, including World Affairs Editor John Simpson and Middle East Corresponent Orla Guerin.Read full review »

Out of the podcasts I have subscribed to this is my favourite. The BBC's correspondents provide amusing and touching reports from the countries they report in. Fergal Keane's 'Letter to Daniel' is incredible.Read full review »

This is a wonderful program with stories from all around the world. The correspondents usually tie a personal story into a larger historical narrative, and it always pulses with humanity. It runs the gamut from heartwarming to devastating, but it always makes for interesting listening.
