Jayme welcome back! Stick with what you do exceedingly well. Your American politics programs were annoying. Canadas politics are innumerable. What an excellent revealing show. Much like Israel’s Pegasus spyware Lavender reveals true face of current regime. Nasty! Big Fan KHF-Albuquerque, NM

Excellent conversations, good exposure and coverage of world news. It keeps me informed. Thanks!

This is the best ~30 minute news podcast I’ve listened to. The experts are excellent, and Jayme Poisson does a great job framing the issue and asking interesting questions. I recommend this to everyone.

Less American topics please. Think they got that covered. There is a whole country here to cover. I'm so bored with the USA, so please fulfill the CBC's mandate and tell me about Canada.Read full review »

It is truly appalling that the main voice given to the pro-Palestinian advocates during this episode is a Jewish rabbi. The intent if this calculated choice is to gaslight the Jewish voice and opinion. Why is it relevant that a Jewish person doesn’t agree that Jews feel threatened or that their...Read full review »

Loved all the guest hosts, they all did a terrific job, but so glad to have Jayme back! Smart, funny, sensitive, inquisitive and well prepared. A great representation of and voice for our generation.

I am not wanting to write this to diminish anyone else in their roles however I will publicly say that I listened to this podcast because of Damon. Please stop switching it up and have him on again. Thanks

The show is low-budget. It feels rushed and lacks production quality. I also the hosts lack the intellect and experience to make this a decent podcast.

I am critical enough to cut through the politics of the CBC to make this podcast daily listening. What I can’t stand is how the CBC has allowed this amateur hack of a host,Jamie, to return to this podcast. She instantly cheapens the integrity and diminishes any credibility of this podcast OR the...Read full review »

Such lack of investigation into a topic that impacts young women is unacceptable but unfortunately not surprising from the CBC of today. Some pieces of information that may be helpful to the two male hosts…. There is not a tween/teen girl that likes her body. We do not encourage girls with...Read full review »

As a kid who grew up in Northern Canada, listening to the CBC on an AM radio connected to a 12V battery for power, this organization has long lost its way, becoming a cliché, left-wing propaganda mouthpiece for the liberal party. It no longer covers an objective view of EVERY story, nor does it...Read full review »

I’m constantly turning it up when the host speaks and turning it back down when the interviewer speaks. It’s really frustrating because I want to listen and I think the content is really good. Please keep up the great work but consider this adjustment.

The male host has a voice that is so challenging to hear and understand, especially when his speech is lower at the end of his sentence. I can’t even hear his name when he introduces himself, is it Damien Farris? I don’t usually listen to his episodes because it can be frustrating.

First time I listened to the podcast and I was disappointed to hear yet another media source not connect the dots and say “ why are people homeless?” Like it’s some sort of choice. How about , what the hell is wrong with our systems that so many people are unable to access a safe place to...Read full review »

I just listened to a doctor working in Gaza, Dr. Anas Al-Kassem. I consider myself hardened to hard-to-listen to stories from war zones. But this podcast had me gritting my teeth and getting teary-eyed at the same time. No hyperbole. No over-emotionalism. Just straight ahead questions and answers...Read full review »

Ths works when it covers Canada. Unfortunately the vast majority of the content is about the US, specifically Donald Trump, and the hosts and guests are not very well-versed in US issues. This problem has plagued the CBC for decades. Unfortunate.

Bring back Jayme! Daemon is great but despite whatever CBC is trying, it’s impossible to hear him and I end up missing so much of what he says that I skip most of the podcasts after the first five minutes.

JP has a great interview style. I miss her approach to digging into news topics. This new interviewer seems to have an American slant and is not nearly as engaging or informative. I’m hardly tuning in anymore… and this was a daily listen for me. Enjoy the maternity leave! I’m checking in to see...Read full review »

great podcast but I can’t hear the host half the time. Run the audio through a compressor / normalizer please!

This episode was so grossly biased. It was frustrating to listen to as it seemed just to be a rant by the hosts and not actually and balanced picture. Disappointed.

The latest host is awesome, just needs a bit of a mix improvement. In outdoor environments with noise I can’t hear the quiet bits and the loud bits hurts from turning up the volume

This show is really woke. Like really really really woke. Some of the reporting isn’t bad but sadly you can’t trust the show because they are pushing a political agenda and if you don’t know a topic well then you can’t tell where the reported info ends and the dogma begins. It is a shame but...Read full review »

I’ve been listening to Front Burner for years, but the recent reporting on the Israel-Hamas conflict is shamefully biased, and the last episode titled “The Ceasefire Debate” was the last straw for me. The episode starts with an important question by Blinken asking if there is an immediate...Read full review »

One-sided, disturbing reporting on Gaza; the CBC won’t even call Hamas terrorists…it’s shameful.

Started listening when it was the lovely woman who went on mat. leave (Tamara). She was super educated, took an intersectional approach, and was very through. I am a longtime listener of the podcast, and I usually enjoy it. The episode aired on Nov. 2, 2023, A Compounding Crisis in Gaza, was very disturbing. The reporting was completely one sided. Daemon Fairless is awesome - both in his precious work with Hunting Warhead and his work on Frontburner now. The show generally tackles topical issues in a non-confrontational and overall balanced way that is informative while digestible for the everyday listener. Well done.

They’re a terrorist organization. That’s not an opinion - but a long standing North American established fact and they don’t state that out of the gate when educating Canadians about them. It’s almost celebrating them - just irresponsible reporting at a critical time.

Wow
Make one bad review about Daemon and his reporting on the Gaza Strip and my review gets deleted!!! I would expect that from US news outlets guess the CBC is no better!!! Wish Daemon would start asking people in the Gaza Strip hard questions and not just a soft toss questions to make Israel look bad.

Very pleased with the new host, Damon Fairless. He asks the questions I want to know about, and he has a soothing voice. News can be harsh. It helps to have it delivered gently.

The guest hosts are so much better at interviewing than the original host and it makes such a big difference in how enjoyable and cohesive the coverage becomes! Tamara was great and enjoying the current guest host as well. Hope you can continue incorporating different reporters going forward!

A friend recommended this and I started listening to this a month ago. Really impressed. Frontburner provides fairly bite sized daily dives into current issues. Experts are well selected and coverage is nuanced. CBC is a national treasure.

It’s a pretty decent one. It’s a shame the last guest host is now gone.
