Sensationalised with overpowering sound design
Interesting content, but two things knock this down a peg. First, the reporting and language seems prone to repeatedly sensationalising events to make them more emotive than they are when stood on their own, and there seems little reserve in characterising the participants as lowlifes instead of humans caught in their situations for a myriad of reasons. We are given no reason to empathise with any of the characters and this lessens the overall engagement. Secondly, the sound design is desperately amateur and overbearing. It ends up sounding more like a melodrama, where every reference has an attached sound - breaking glass, a scream. It’s too much. The running theme is also too forceful and used too frequently. I’d seriously recommend re-mixing this with a less literal sound design and adjusting some of the language - hoods and crims?? - to make this less of a sledgehammer and more of a maturely crafted story.

Phone calls between the host and others are terrible quality - you can...Read full review »

Stop telling us what we are going to hear and explore. Also, some of the audio recording is atrocious. Other than that good work.
