On the Fence with Good Beer Hunting....
Good Beer Hunting is well produced and quite informative. BUT BUT BUT..... the host/interviewer, Michael Kiser can come off as somewhat pretentious and rude. The most glaring example was the recent interview with Boston Beer's Jim Koch. Absoultely Jim Koch can be a hand full during an interview. But regardless, listen to the interview and it will be rather apparent. Kiser rarely acted this way a couple years ago, but seems to be heading in a different direction. Another small annoyance is Kiser's constant interuptions of his guests. Yes, the interviewer needs to be in control and keep the Podcast moving in a streamlined direction as much as possible. But again, it comes off as though Kiser always needs to let the listeners and guests understand he's as knowledgable as anyone in the industry. When you're constantly interupting and finishing the sentences/thoughts of your guests, it just comes off a little pretentious. There is a huge difference between interviewing skills/confidence and being arrogant! Overall, if Kiser's interviewing intricacies don't bother you, then Good Beer Hunting is a solid beer industry podcast.Read full review »

This podcast reminds me of the craft beer version of when your radio station does b-sides or deep cuts. It's not a place to find reviews or the latest gossip. Each episode is a journey into a completely different aspect of craft beer with a wide range of characters. Robust, rich, and never dull.Read full review »
