Greens: a party of protest?
The Greens is a party of protest. And Good on them. Somebody has to protest, because the centrist parties are so snug with one another that they support eachother's worst policies: subsidising fosil fuel energy production, the illegal "Ship 'em to Nauru" policy and negative gearing on investment property. Politics everywhere is in protest from the Arab spring of a few years back to Trump and Bernie Sanders in the USA, to the recent Presidential elections in Austria, the explosion of the SNP in Scotland, etc. We get one chance to have a say in each political cycle - and we have our say on so many issues. If the centrist parties have got it wrong on so many, we have little choice but to protest. But protest party or not, the Greens will make better financial managers than either the Labour Party or the Coalition. The Greens push for change, and change means new industry - even if it's green, it's still industry.Read full review »
