Trying be to even and unbiased but failing hard.
I've listened to Hack a lot over the years whilst driving and it just frustrates me so much and I end up changing channels and getting annoyed. Tom has this veil of trying to be unbiased however it is clearly obvious this is not the case, he tries showing both sides to an argument, however anytime someone calls up and has a slightly alternative view or (normally the case) a more right wing view he just cuts them down and refuses to listen to their answer. Many of the topics that are talked about are incredibly grey/complex and this is often mentioned, but Tom will just swing the argument towards his slightly left wing views. I fully understand that he is pandering to the triple J kiddies who are the majority of the listeners. I feel like the show needs more substance and less babble. In my view John Safran would be fair better suited for this show and at least he's willing to go out on a limb and express his views without being a jerk about others opinions or steering the discussion in his favour.Read full review »
