Elitist and Uninclusive
Ordinarily I’m an enormous fan of the mammamia network, however Rebecca Judd’s commentary in the episode that debates public vs private sounds elitist and misrepresentative of current medical data. She makes the public system sound uncaring and behind, based on inconsistency of care, longer waiting times and junior doctors and midwives. Rather than pointing to quality data such as a higher birth intervention rate and birth trauma in the private system as opposed to public. I have experienced both and have an entirely different experience to Rebecca’s portrayal. The majority of people who listen to this podcast are unlikely to have the means to use the private system and shouldn’t feel inadequate as a result.

This is perfectly timed for where I am in my pregnancy and it gave me some light when I really needed it. Thank you.
