Joyful, Respectful, and Progressive
I've listened to a number of progressive-leaning podcasts centered around Christianity, and this one has quickly become my favorite! There are two things that I think set it apart from the crowd. First, the hosts seem genuinely happy to be doing what they are doing - their tone is joyful rather than cynical. Specific ideas aside, they seem to have experienced something real and meaningful, and to know that they have experienced it. Second, they all seem to be well-read in classical Christian theology, and even after deconstructing from evangelicalism they maintain a respectful stance towards the overall Christian tradition. This is very refreshing to me - I have been disheartened to see many who reject Christianity in whole when the thing they really have a problem with is just evangelicalism (though I understand that this is what some people need to do). This podcast gives me hope that there is a path forward for those who are deconstructing but who also love the tradition as much as I do.Read full review »
