Great Idea, Grating Execution
I heard an ad for this on my favorite podcast, You Must Remember This, so I thought I would check it out. This is easily the most annoying historical podcast I've ever listened to. The dialogue between the two narrators is so cheesy and scripted. The "jokes" they interject here and there seemed like they practiced them a hundred times, very inorganic rapport. The reenactment scenes are also embarrassingly bad with horrible accents. I have to echo someone else's review of the female voices as well: apparently all women sound like old ladies? The topic sounds very interesting but I think it's overly ambitious. I'm no historian but so many of these stories have important moments either glossed over or ignored completely and the lives don't seem remarkable which makes their deaths seem less than tragic. Don't think I will continue subscribing, too irritating.Read full review »

More reviews of Historical Figures
I have been waiting for a history podcast that talks about prominent figures! I am extremely excited for more episodes to drop. The production and sound quality is great.

I love that each ep is a manageable 20-40 minutes long and partially acted out. I love the enthusiasm and without fail, I have managed to learn something new each episode. Please keep up the good work -- you're doing such a great job!Read full review »
