“It’s difficult to find really good history podcasts. They tend to fall into two camps: academic explorations presented with all the charisma of Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller’s Day off; and the more entertainment focused shows that resemble a morning shock jock reading from Cliffs Notes. History of the Netherlands is one of the rare podcasts that busts out of this dichotomy; it’s deep and well researched, as well as presented with considerable panache by its jovial Aussie host. I’m particularly looking forward to when the timeline reaches the New Netherland colony (Peter Stuyvesant, woot woot!) Keep up the amazing work, you guys are a treasure.”
