Goodbye, Home Front
I must say that I heard every episode at some point, and thoroughly enjoyed it, despite clocking a rather large number of anachronisms in the language the characters used. Now that I’ve listened again to some of the early episodes, I admire the way in which the scriptwriters and producers made some of the characters - particularly Sylvia Graham - grow and change for the better under the pressure of war, whilst others - notably Johnnie Marshall - withered and shrank. It was bold of the scriptwriters and producers, too, to leave some characters and stories unresolved. I really wanted to know what became of Lilian Frost, and Howard Argent - but of course those open ends are life versus art (soap opera being both). But I do wish I knew how Adam Wilson and his parents escaped the wrath of the law between November 1918 and November 1919!

I am so delighted to have found this excellent program. It is entertaining and enlightening and has given me hours of pleasure, a real gem. Now I just need to find something else as good.
