It took well over a year to listen to all of omnibus, and I loved it. I was for sure several of the voice actors played multiple parts, but was amazing when I read up on the cast. It’s evidence that this was a well thought out production about a pivotal time in history. Thanks so much for all...Read full review »

Really brilliant drama, great characters… although it was a shame about the character Hugh Cavendish, didn’t understand how he was a hero pilot, who came back from the dead and later on became one of the most hate-able characters in many ways, and the voice actor changed too. And why did people...Read full review »

This got me through lockdown Mark 2!! I just couldn’t stop listening to it. Vivid beyond words the characters were so believable I found myself talking to them during situations they found themselves in. Totally immersive, totally worth listening to all over again.

I have just finished listening to the last Homefront Omnibus and like many others am feeling bereft not to continue hearing about the lives of those characters. They were so well acted I could picture their faces and loved hearing about the domestic lives of British people during the war. I...Read full review »

I stumbled across this series whilst having a browse for things to listen to during lockdown. Thoroughly enjoyable. Mixing historical events with the domestic approach. I’ve just started Series 10, and I know I’m going to be utterly bereft when it’s over. It would be lovely to think that...Read full review »

This is a wonderful gripping informative drama. Extremely well acted and so grateful to have found this series during COVID isolation. It has kept me company in the absence of friends and family, and what has struck me is how much of the experiences documented in this drama is very reminiscent of...Read full review »

Catching up on this dramatisation of Home Front has made my ‘lockdown’ more memorable! I have been sewing ‘scrubs’ for the NHS for weeks now and these podcasts have been so enjoyable to listen to. The hardships and everyday life of the characters in each episode have made our present situation...Read full review »

I have loved catching up on this amazing series, having missed it the first time round. Thank you so much doe making it available. However, many of the omnibus episodes aren’t complete, which is a real shame. Thank you for what there is though.

I’m coming to the end of this wonderful series and am already feeling quite bereft. I agree with the other reviewer about making another series for WW2. I must say also that the cast have been wonderful I love that each voice is easily identifiable to character. Well done BBC.

I loved this series, weaving real events and family life together. I agree with other listeners. Why not do similar for WW2, the Great Depression or other historical events. It’s like ‘History Light’

This is a histroical drama just like (and as good as) the "Downton Abbey" TV series. It tells the story of several characters living in a town on the coast of the English Channel. It gives us a taste of what it was like living during WW1. You learn about the societal changes during...Read full review »

Home Front is a great drama that will be missed. Home Front the ‘Inter war years’ maybe could work. The drama has moved on from the war as the dominant driver to the series and now is character led so could go anywhere.

I must say that I heard every episode at some point, and thoroughly enjoyed it, despite clocking a rather large number of anachronisms in the language the characters used. I’ve been listening to this from the start. In that time I have had a major operation and after recovering from that got the big C, fought that and am now clear. Fantastic series, you must continue with the characters. We as listeners feel we have grown up with them and need to know what happens next. This has been as addictive as the long running TV series’ and as equally visual to the ears. Thank you.
