“I have loved every minute of this show and have not only learned a lot about life at home during WW1 but also become fond of its characters. It won’t be the same without the feisty Alice Macnade, the wonderful Marshall sisters, the entertaining Mrs Edkins and the down-to-earth Florae Wilson joining me whilst I relax with a nice cuppa. I hope the BBC will find another drama that is equally as lovely or better still allow us the occasional visit with our old friends.”
