This is definitely my favourite episode. Such a great conversation - jokey but also really stimulating discussion, and I think it was a very different side to Jon Ronson that we haven’t seen before. Great ep. ❤️👌

I love listening to Elizabeth, she’s both beautifully articulate and sweary in all the right places as well as truly feeling with upmost compassion her interviewee’s pain. This podcast has become one of my all time favourites and I cherish every minute.

The way Elizabeth interviews her guests so eloquently with the perfect degree of professionalism and fun is unrivalled. Each episode feels different to the next drawing on different emotive topics. The best podcast around!

Where have I been?? Having listened to pod casts for years, somehow this has escaped my radar. I’ve started at the beginning and listed to them all. Elizabeth Day really listens and is so emotionally amerced in her guests and asks such eloquent and thoughtful questions. She’s a true expert.

So many things I love about this podcast. I love the honesty and unfiltered authenticity. The only exception to this is some of the so-called ‘A-listers’ who often present as a bit fake and rehearsed. Most of the guests however bring their true selves to the podcast and as a podcaster myself...Read full review »

I feel rather selfish that we are on the 20th series and having never missed an episode, I am only writing a review now. I think I always wanted to, but could never quite articulate how much I really love this podcast… What I need to express firstly is my Gratitude at the quality content that I...Read full review »

I’m usually a true crime addict but in 2024 I decided to shake things up a bit and broaden my interests, so I thought I would give ‘How to Fail’ a go. I now love Elizabeth Day! She’s a great interviewer and explores difficult topics with kindness and empathy. The Bernie Sanders and Rory Stewart...Read full review »

I’m so happy I lucked in to finding this podcast. No matter how many times I see the show title and notes and think, “I don’t know who this person is, I can’t possibly learn anything from them,” IT NEVER FAILS TO BE THE OPPOSITE!! I learn something deep, meaningful or simply fun every time and...Read full review »

I love this podcast, as it creates a deeper understanding for what many of your favourite celebrities have been through. I also like that it shows you that it’s ok to go wrong and it’s not just you in more cases than you think.

Great concept, the guests are amazing and I think Elizabeth Day asks good questions. But, she is a bit of a sycophant and I find her trying to almost morph her personality into whoever she is talking to.

How to make sense of the world and yourself whether connecting to guests such as Claudia Winkelman (she is what you see!) or gaining a deeper understanding of what your friends are going through (Dawn French, thank you). Revelations through a chat.

She’s a very good interviewer but I wish she’d tone down the admiration of her guests. It can be very gushing in an other wise, measured approach.
