My favourite Actual Play Podcast.
I've been meaning to write a review for this podcast for quite a while. Unfortunately, I'm criminally lazy. That I've actually bothered myself to write this review speaks volumes for just how good it is. I've listened to quite a few Actual Play podcasts and this has fast become my favourite. So why do I enjoy it so much? (*Spoilers* - "I punch him in the throat!", "He immediately stops chanting and begins to choke" This alone had me in tears.) Joe, the DM/GM/Ringleader, does an admirable job at bringing together what I'm sure is a chaotic bunch. I've just started DMing the odd game of D&D and I'm very envious of just how easy Joe makes it look. That is to say, his games have a very nice flow to them and he tells the story well. Eoghan is one of the mainstays on the playing side. He clearly enjoys playing and his enthusiasm infects the group. His ability to roll poorly is one of the few constants you can rely on in life. Aaron, or Spencer Randall as I prefer to think of him, is the safe pair of hands with the sultry tones who acts how you'd imagine a reasonable person would. That is to say, the only player with a life expectancy exceeding that of a Lemming. Dave and his voices. His accents are simply great. I shan't harp on about them too much but yeah, he's a great Roleplayer. I feel sorry for Joe, who's range of accents is perfectly acceptable. The great strength of this Podcast is with the dynamic of the group. It comes together and it's just hilarious. I'm by no means xenophobic but it's nice to listen a British (Mostly British?) podcast and get all the pop culture references and the like too. So yeah, I've harped on enough. Give this podcast a try, you won't regret it. Please keep up the good work guys and thanks! I look forward to every new episode.Read full review »

Fantastic actual play. Great group and the sfx added in later episodes is spot on!

This podcast is incredible. It includes humor without ruining the horror, and Joe (the keeper) comes up with great ideas, some of which I have used in my own games (the radio from The Haunting scared my players more than anything else has). Never a dull moment!
