I don't have kids and I love this podcast!
I absolutely love this podcast. I am a 24 year old, first year Special Education Teacher and this is my go-to podcast on my hour commute home from work. It is honest and funny and well produced. I value the opportunity to have an insight into the lives of other Australian women and hear how they make life work for them. I am not married and I don't have any kids - so I've asked myself why I am so drawn to this podcast, which is obviously aimed at mums. I think it is because I was raised in an era where women either worked or stayed at home to raise their children. Much of my success is owing to my mother, who has dedicated her life to supporting me and my siblings. Even as an adult, she would make me a tea at 5am and bring it to my room to help me wake up so I could finish my university assignments. So I have this incredible mother as a role model, but I also live in an educated world, with the blessing of a reliable long-term job. My boyfriend is highly ambitious and I know that he expects me to continue working in the future when we have kids. But I want to be able to support and bless my own children the way my mother has blessed me. This is my first year of working full time and I suppose at the end of the work day, I find it inspiring to sit in my car and listen to other women who have been where I am and are living that next chapter of life and making it work. They balance their career aspirations with their dreams of being a mother. These are stories of hope. I realise I don't have to choose between a career and a family. You show that plenty of women around Australia are making it work in their own various ways. So thank you so much for being an inspiration to me and giving me dreams for what my life might look like in the future too. :)Read full review »
