Positive Comedic Discourse
Little crazy in a good way. I was born to a fundamental Baptist missionary Pastor. I have about 10-15 memories total from my childhood thanks to my father. These people are making it possible for me to peel back some layers of the brainwashing in a surprisingly comedic way. If you’re looking to laugh and then immediately dissociate two seconds later because of trauma while finding out things about yourself, then look no further hah. I would say if you’re one of the reviewers who saw the title of this podcast and still expected 100% serious content, then I don’t really know how to help you. The two hosts remind me a lot of two liberal friends who were a key lifeline in positive and thoughtful discussion and disagreements that lead me on the path to listening to stuff like this. I’ve was a conservative all my life until I started researching more the past two years and realized I might be more moderate. Just a insert here if you’re hard right and think that “any anti-Christian content is automatically garbage”. It is possible to be on the right and still want the best for your kids without submitting them to sexist occult-like practices for 20 years. Rant done. Podcast is cool.

The hosts has wonderful chemistry and the subject, while difficult at times, is handled so well. One of my new favorites: highly recommend to anyone curious or deconstructing.

This podcast does an excellent job at...Read full review »

I grew up in the subculture. Listening to this podcast is so validating of my experience. I like that it’s a conversation between a former evangelical and someone who grew up without religion. Hearing Brooke’s reactions I am realizing that Evangelicalism, and Dobson in particular, are even more...Read full review »
