So validating, healing, triggering
My parents used James Dobson’s teachings to justify a lot of abusive behavior in my childhood, and this podcast has been so validating, healing, and a little triggering to listen to. I’ve been looking back on my childhood wondering if certain things were normal, and this podcast has been extremely helpful in validating my trauma. The podcast has a light hearted tone as they talk about serious subject matter, and I really like Jake’s approach (to other reviewers: Brooke grows on you and becomes less cringe, just keep listening!) Suggestion for the show creators: I think it would be interesting to hear from people who were raised with the teachings of James Dobson should you ever decide to have guest interview segments. This podcast has been such a cathartic listen and I hope you keep creating episodes!
