Superb
This is the most education and entertaining podcast I've yet found. The sheer breadth of subject matter keeps the show from ever becoming dull--although the insightful questions of the host and the in depth, entertaining answers of the panelists would never allow that to happen, even if the subject were the same every week. With a rotating cast of guest panelists, I would expect the quality to vary, but whatever selection process the producers use must be working. The panelists are engaging and respectful of each other, even in their disagreements, and I never fail to finish a podcast without learning something. Bravo!Read full review »

Easily one of the best podcasts going. To be recommended very highly. A standard others should aspire to

I think the discussions are quite useful in that even complex topics are nicely unpacked to appeal to even to the ordinary listener.Read full review »

This is a most enjoyable series - spoilt only by contributors' (and especially historians') insitence on talking about past events in the present tense. Sometimes this leads to hilarious convolutions within single sentences. Do they think that R4 listeners cannot cope with past tenses?Read full review »
