Disappointed // Garrick Club Member
I love In Our Time and its wide ranging areas of interest. I appreciate thoughtful commentary on topics across many disciplines - the arts, sciences, contemporary existence, ancient life. But I am profoundly disappointed to have learned that Melvin Bragg is a member of the women-excluding Garrick Club. Does this have an impact on this podcast series? Surely it does, for — though says he supports the inclusion of women at the club — Mr. Bragg is happy to support/contribute to/benefit from an organisation that is very happy to cater to men and men alone. Perhaps women listeners should exclude this podcast from their libraries… Until Mr. Bragg takes a stronger stand on this embarrassing, narrow-minded and sexist issue, this woman will invest her time elsewhere.
