This podcast has a wide variety of current topics and brings wonderful and insightful guests. I don’t think I ever leave an episode without learning something new! It makes me excited to learn new things and get more informed. Thank you for the effort that is put into it.

I have unsubscribed Very shallow, enforcing biased opinions based on speculation and making it sound like facts.

At a time when most media is trying to sell you something it is inspiring to listen to real objective and informative debate. Entertaining and challenging cant recommend this high enough , they are must listen to podcasts especially while out walking

A fantastically enlightening and compassionate discussion between two daughters of the subcontinent! Mishal Husain has rightly attracted criticism in recent years over her impartiality at the BBC, but this conversation certainly puts that in perspective.

I’m surprised and initially disappointed by the discussion on “Karens” and the assumption that a hag can obviously be herself because it seems so out of touch and dismissive of intersectional feminism.

Big fan of intelligence squared debates, but the recent shortened format for non-subscriber content seem to cut the episodes so short as to leave you with a sense of disappointment. I suppose it is a vote for the quality of the work but a disappointing experience for a non-subscriber.

I really enjoyed that episode. I’d like to hear more from him.

I listened to Food for Thought. It was steeped in scientism. Old data. Nothing new. There is so much going on in nutrition and none of it was here.

The feed is not as tight as it used to be. There were debates. Now they are paywalled and very infrequent. There were book discussions with authors (I know some of the past reviewers were tepid about them but they provided interesting perspectives, even if unbalanced). Now they are none. What...Read full review »

This used to be more rigorous. Now you’ve got patently uninformed, unqualified and uneducated debaters making ridiculous arguments. Anything that gives credence to the Ibrahim Kandis of this world loses all credibility. This is the guy who seriously laid out his belief white people were from...Read full review »

We now know, through hindsight, that the Brexit decision was a bad one and the British people were sold a bill of goods. The UK has or will soon have the slowest growing economy of all industrialized nations….including Russia!!! As the British economy shrinks, so does its power and...Read full review »

I don’t recall how I found intelligence squared debates but probably because I was listening to political podcasts quite a bit during 2020. I would much rather spend 45 min listening to these debate teams go back and forth with argument and counter than watch a sports game for 45 min, and that’s...Read full review »

Enjoy the range of guests and topics. The interview with Ian Hislop was particularly good.

In the greatest monarch episode, the result of the debate was edited out of the free episode. So one now must subscribe to hear the result of the debate?

Very good range of topics, with high quality discussion. Shame about the music - but then it is rubbish on most podcasts.

As you would expect with debates, I agree wholeheartedly with some of the arguments and felt some were foolishly naive. I was convinced by some contributors to reassess my own views but felt that some of the contributors that I didn’t like with were given undue prominence. Perfect: 5 out of 5 stars!

Even judging by the name it is clear that they think they are Albert Einstein or something. Only gets worse throughout the episodes. Very Occasionally somewhat interesting though

I first followed this podcast 5 years ago. The debates were thought stimulating and widened my perspective. Most shows are still like this, however many of the shows about race are one-sided, unnuanced and even mislabelled as ‘debates’

3 mins of offer advertising before the programme starts is too long. Interesting guest once I got through that. Have multiple guests might add more to discussions.

Please stop giving attention to Ibram Kendi and his bigoted and childishly simplistic ideas about solving racial disparities.

No matter the subject, you’re guaranteed to gain something from every episode - can’t recommend Intelligence Squared enough!
LisaIsHereForIt via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/18/22
Great subject and the author had some great ideas. Questions could have been much more interesting and edgey. Plus the guy who does the intro over uses “fascinating” and bugs be disproportionately.

With several minutes of ads at the beginning, middle and end of each podcast, often lacklustre “debates” that fail to go beyond: “I think this”, “I disagree, it’s that”… “did we convince anyone? No?”, and most interviews being nothing beyond thinly veiled book adverts, this podcast is high on...Read full review »

Not much information on the contents of the leaked documents but a heavy, far left diatribe on the ills of the world. More a ideologue’s rage against the rich and especially the Republican Party in the US. It’s a real turn off. Disappointed in the show for an ever increasing diet of social...Read full review »

Episode with Franzten was well timed with recent IPCC report. That said - he is a nihilist human hater - actually calling the ‘human project’ a virus, a plague on the planet etc. This sort of mindset, along with the increasing government authoritarianism in the west as a result of COVID, only...Read full review »

I used to love this podcast but even though its a new season and we’re into October, they’re still replaying debates from years ago instead of producing new ones. If other podcasts are in full swing and producing new content, why can’t intelligence squared? Also, the fact that they gave the Home...Read full review »

Formerly (not too long ago in fact) this was a very high-quality debate forum. Sadly, it is now the equivalent of every other sound-stage for broadcasting unilateral viewpoints, loaded with jargon and newspeak.

Very disappointed with moderator Anne McElvoy. Lack of focus, rambling unnecessary comments.

First thing I saw was the show claiming to allow different points of view, then the first episode I saw was them saying “trump was right to be censored” I mean, it was just a statement.
