Could learn from the IQ2US podcast
Some interesting discussions, especially the more lightweight and light-hearted ones - for example, the debate about whether Rembrandt or Vermeer is the greater artist was very entertaining. But in general this podcast could take a leaf from the US branch of Intelligence Squared. The IQ2US format is clearer and fairer (the "winner" of the debate is the side who increases their vote share the most, rather than whoever happens to come into the debate with the more popular position). I find the shorter podcasts -- less than 1:20 -- almost worthless; even frustrating. The topics are always quite interesting but too complex for brief treatment. A great podcast, but like everything else PBS, is becoming a platform for ads. And not somewhat classy ads like PBS Television, but divorce lawyers and tailors.
