A fun alternative to a classic documentary
...as each chapter has its own (part of the whole) story, individual chapters are fun to listen. One wants to listen to the rest, but feels that one has already 'gotten somewhere' in the story. The pulp fiction tones were fun and - surprising to me - not annoying. A very successful attempt. While I will want the BBC to keep making classic documentaries, I will eagerly listen to a few new ones according to this fresh recipe.Read full review »

Absolutely loved this series and would love to see more content like this from Radio4. A lot of other reviewers didn't like the narration but the reason it was simplistic was because the story was so complex. Definitely would recommend!Read full review »

What a fantastic podcast! The storytelling and reporting is excellent, while the subject matter is fascinating. The BBC team has done a brilliant job at creating a ‘must listen’ show. More please!
