I recommend this to anyone looking for a good listen. Interesting and very engaging.

This narrator lacks any charisma. He’s as flavorless as jasmine rice, dim sum, or Asian applicants to Ivy League schools. He has no change of pace or tone when he narrates. This show is the perfect soporific for insomniacs. My other issue is that he pronounces Chinese names in a manner that’s...Read full review »

I cannot speak for the first two seasons, but the third has been fantastic so far. I appreciate that the episodes are a good length and released regularly. The host is clearly very studied on the topic and I love all of the fun facts we learn along the way. The very granular play-by-play nature...Read full review »

Very good podcast. Quick response to Craig Watson in season 3. The past tense when some dies by hanging is “hanged” not “hung.”

I really like these podcasts as they are well made, however making endless videos on the Mongolian Empire and it’s many Khanates gets quite repetitive after a while. But I still love the podcasts, just add more variety. Also, love the documentaries on YouTube especially the Arab empire special.

Love your work! Keep it up.

So good

Excellent work, trying to bring an balanced view on the Mongolian conquest. Initially it start’s off good, but when it comes to the mongol conquest of Baghdad or the talk about Berke Khan- the personal bias is oozing out (overflowing). It’s very evident the discussion with one of the experts of...Read full review »

This is a five star show, but against is one of those words you aren’t supposed to say phonetically. Have is another one. Have a nice day.

I am a huge fan of their YouTube channel as much this podcast
filosofopatan via Apple Podcasts · Mexico · 03/06/21
This podcast excels at making complex and deep subjects engaging. The host has enough of a sense of humor to make like of the serious subject matter without being disrespectful. The speculation is treated as such, and is only mentioned when it’s plausible or popular enough, but unreliable. I’m...Read full review »

I really enjoy this podcast because it presents primary and secondary evidence in bite size pieces that I enjoy learning about at a pace that I can keep up. An excellent combination of non-fiction history with a mix for great stories.
Barto184 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 02/17/21
I envy their ability to cram so much information into such an easily digestible package. Not only am I learning new things about parts of history I didn’t know much about, but also, gaining new insight into parts that confused me before.

I especially love the jackmeister special episodes where he talks to history profs and goes in depth + discusses newer research (Sometimes it gets a bit too drawn out, but still love it overall). For example we learn why the mongols might actually have called themselves "tatars" and why...Read full review »

Awesome podcast, with great work and research by crew at K&G!! P.S.: will you be diving into the sucessor states of the mongol Khanates, like the Northern Yuan, Crimean khanate, moghulistan , jalairid Sultanate ,etc? I think it’s one of the best podcasts out there on Mongol history. A lot of myths are debunked and a very unbiased and balanced approach to history is taken in this one. Been listening to only this one for a couple of weeks now. Keep up the great work
Genghis1348 via Apple Podcasts · Singapore · 08/17/20
This is a pretty good podcast, in terms of research and editing it couldn’t be better but the host just bores me out, don’t get me wrong I love kings and generals but when I’m doing something else and want the podcast to put my mind off of it, this doesn’t do it
Clay_Wolf via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/20/20
I love the research that goes behind each episode as well as its great narration and production value. I wish they could churn out an episode everyday!
Amzyair via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/27/20
I listened with great joy and interest the episodes dedicated to the Mongols; I was able to identify some points here and there that did not agree with sources I have studied but I attributed that to my potentially limited research on the subject. Listening though to the wars of diadochi (which...Read full review »

I like the podcast and really appreciate the subject matter they are tackling. Definitely worth a listen. However, my constructive criticism would be to 1. Look at pronunciations. The Kings and General’s podcast is a great podcast on history. I love listening to it as often as I can, and even repeat listening to past episodes. Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks for the Mongol program . Most of the rest begin and end with Ch.K.and it’s very plain that the Mongols rose up on the ponies of other tribes .Please keep it up ! Still a great show but I seem to be missing episode 14 .Whats up ?

Exactly what I was looking for! I loved the wars of the diadochi, and am greatly enjoying the mongol series, partially because I know so little about them, and partly because I’m excited to hear how the baddies got whooped at Ain Jalut, given the context that they were a near apocalyptic force....Read full review »

Amazing job on YouTube videos. This podcast matches the devotion and small nuances which the YouTube channel does so well. Following 1 linear historical event makes it even better as you can hear history develop wherever you are.
