concise distillation of Jim's writings, enjoyable and witty!
This podcast hosted by Duncan Crary (also of the Humanist Network News podcast) and James Howard Kunstler is a weekly delight; I have read _The Long Emergency_ and _Geography of Nowhere_ and _Home From Nowhere_ and think that Jim really has accurately diagnosed the maladies plaguing American society and the suburban living arrangement. Duncan and Jim are provocative, and not all listeners agree, not even me, with everything Jim says, but he certainly gives one food for thought. If anything I'm probably even more pessimistic than Jim about the long term prospects of the post-Peak Oil age. I am a native southerner but I do have the moderating influence of Missouri roots; Jim's unabashed Yankee attitudes are sometimes grating to my ears, but so much of what he says is clearly right that I don't hold that against him. Plus the show is often laugh out loud funny.Read full review »
