This 💪🏼
As someone who was 226lb a year ago, the amount of people that would tell me ‘you don’t need to lose weight, you’re fine as you are’. I’d never be able to find actually nice clothing and I started tailoring my own clothes! Yes I’ve lost weight now, health reasons (hEDS and the weight hammered my joints) but gosh, so many people tiptoe around fatphobia now. I was fat. I’m still, by bmi, overweight... but I’m no longer fat as I have a 28” waist but I certainly owned it whilst I was fat and put my foot down on people telling me I wasn’t. If you’re not fully comfortable in your body, then change it and that’s fine. But if you’re comfortable enough to just say ‘I’m fat’ then more power to you as it was definitely a turning point in my mental health and self worth 🤘🏼
