Rachel Reeves
I think Rory just helped out Reeves by stepping up with some more direct questioning, otherwise the interview might have been a bit dull. I (half) listened to her Mais lecture a while ago but nothing she said is memorable to me. The debate re free trade and countries specialising (I'm thinking David Ricardo) vs protectionism and a more robust economy less dependent on China is actually interesting. In general I think she did a good job in this interview and hope she's very successful if she becomes Chancellor. Anyway I just bumped up my rating to 5 stars for this podcast. I think it's difficult to run an interview with two interviewers... can be even easier to talk over and drown out the interviewee but I think these two are improving.Read full review »

Love Rory’s balance and insight, but Alistair a little wild at times.

Listened to Alastair and Rory talking to Michael Heseltine - absolutely fascinating

Endless interjecting, not listening to Badiels points, deciding that he ‘knows’. Please, just shut up and listen to people, just bloody listen. You don’t always have to be the one speaking. Learn from Rory Stewart. Have some genuine curiosity.
