A very good listen. Informative and interesting. Not yet uploaded visually on YouTube. Long to see those facial expressions on offer.

Great podcast, with great guests. However I have a request. When describing Brexit as a “tragedy” or other words to that effect, can you give concrete and practical examples of the impact? Too often it seems your position on Brexit (which I agree with, by the way) falls into simplistic rhetoric...Read full review »

Having hosts from opposite sides of the political divide mean no guest gets an easy ride. It’s just a brilliant dynamic. It’s always a great listen but some of the recent interviews have been exceptional.

This is always a good listen - even if the guests are not your cup of tea the interview is interesting & informative- The ex-heads of UK intelligence services MI5 & MI6 on a joint interview was a masterclass & I was surprised by how candidly they both spoke. How easily the two spies dismissed lightly and excused the unbelievably illegal horrific Israeli actions against the people of Gaza. While all the while blithely describing how legally compliant etc their old services are. Shameful and despairing. Rory and Alistair what the hell are you doing?

What a brilliant episode. Please interview more people like Antony. his perspective was different to your normal Leading politician. His depth of awareness and his capacity, for putting it into words, was inspiring.

These interviews should be recommended listening for everyone. They are very informative, entertaining and sometimes tedious. A Tale of Two Spies was extremely interesting now listening to The Reith Lectures by Eliza Manningham-Buller. Thank you Rory and Alastair this last interview was spot on!

What a fantastic interview! I hope he is right about a Labour government really understanding the importance of the Arts and realising it should be a fundamental part of the school curriculum. Alistair’s comment about Keir Starmer really pushing this before the next election is spot on. I loved...Read full review »

It does though, extremely well. They are greater than the sum of their parts. Meaningful, topical and entertaining in equal measure. If you also listen to Leading then add expansive and insightful to that list. Long may it continue. Thank you.

What an entertaining man. I loved this one - made me laugh out loud. And it gave me insights, even if Rory already knew it all! I didn’t.

In the words of Ian Dunt, who says it far better than I can:. "I am glad that Rory Stewart has a successful podcast, but I am incensed that Rory Stewart is a podcaster. That is not what this man should be doing in a sane country. He should be one of the leading figures of the right -...Read full review »

Delving into the fascinating realm of international affairs, this remarkable British podcast stands out for its insightful commentary that transcends the often myopic focus on American politics, notably the Trump obsession across the pond. Excellent interview with a very thoughtful , interesting leader. It was fantastic. I learned so much about Kosovo and its role in southeast Europe. Love the opportunity to listen to interviews with leaders from various walks of life.

A wonderful podcast that gives the guests time to talk and express their views. In a dumbed down media era this a fantastic antidote to the 140 character lunacy!

Great show let down only by Rory’s ever growing love of his own voice and asking questions that take up half the show’s time.
AlHussein83 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/12/24
Rory occasionally has really really weird pronunciation. Great interview with Caroline Lucas but her name is Ca-ro-line, not Kerin. Honestly it’s almost unlistenable because of that; it’s so annoying. You say it over and over again in the interview. Maybe Alastair can learn you to speak proper...Read full review »

Some interview guests are better than others of course. Some episodes feature some of the longest and most convoluted questions you will hear anywhere..!! The best episodes are where there is less obsequiousness and more ‘sparks’…!! More ‘modern’ views and guests would be great as well so we...Read full review »

Rory is a treasure. Truly grateful to him for entering a complex dialogue on Islamophobia with Sam Harris. Alastair and Rory showcase how to converse generously on controversial topics. ❤️

Excellent show with interesting conversations from a unique point of view. Slightly uncomfortable interview with James Rubin but still worth a listen. Highly recommend for TRIP fans and anyone else interested in politics. Keep disagreeing agreeably.

I love and enjoy your balanced podcasts but this latest interview made me angry. James Rubin was so clearly a defensive American - the type of American who always thinks without a hinterland. Disappointing and not entertaining.

I really enjoy these guys podcasts but having just listened to this latest Leading with Anthony Scaramucci it’s my favourite yet. Fantastic listening, and contained everything from humour, to gossip and the real interest in Donald J Trump. Well done Alistair and Rory 👏👏

Highly entertaining interview, I literally couldn’t stop listening. All I remember was how the press annihilated him during his time with Trump and as a result we all had a low opinion of him at the time. This was the best interview yet! Please can we have more interviews with leading professors. The bigger picture thinking and the physiology of why people do what they do was gripping the whole way through.

I’m a big listener to the rest is politics and leading but my reaction to opening the latest leading episode was ‘another man!’. I look forward to more episodes with interesting leading women - there are many of them around!

Really enjoy listening to Rory and Alistair. Love the rapport they have despite their different political origins. This is a gem of a podcast amongst the myriad available. Very pleasant surprise to have an unusual guest like Robert Sapolsky - fascinating! Thank you.

In The Rest Is Politics podcast a guiding principle is to disagree agreeably, but this interview show is far too disagreeable. Especially in light of some top gaslighting from Gillian Keegan around education. I don’t know a single teacher (and I know a few!) who doesn’t think it’s a complete mess. I don’t usually review podcasts. Listen to to many. This is excellent , the guest are good as well. However Gillian Keegan MP came across as soulless and robotic just like so many of our politicians.

Love this. Fascinating and enjoyed across the parties and views. But Keegan was appalling. Very average performer who just spouted prepared lines. Alastair did well to keep the discussion going.
