Speaking authoritatively without accurate knowledge
This is a concern. You are speaking with an authoritative tone with details that enhance the impression that you have the knowledge, but it is an incomplete knowledge and where the specifics and details do matter. I began by listening to your 14th episode about becoming a vegan. It is important to get the facts correct about what the difference between Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are. "Ulcers" typically are something seen in Crohn's disease and small bowel involvement is an additional red flag pointing at Crohn's. The visual findings of confluent inflammation without skip areas isolated to the colon is indicative of UC. While ulcer is in the name of ulcerative colitis, ulcers are not typical for the disease. I'm sorry that your introduction to IBD was full of incomplete or misinformation. My second concern was that Esselstyn had nothing to do with the actual China Study - neither the study nor the book. T. Colin Campbell is the author. I hope the facts improve in further episodes, but I would caution anyone who choses to listen to not rely on this information alone. I do advocate for a plant based diet and for incorporating diet and nutrition into both prevention and therapy for chronic diseases. But the details matter and we shouldn't make leaps without knowing that we will be landing upon solid fact based answers. Scrutiny is needed. We ALL must adopt a role as skeptic in order to weed out the fact from the fictional.Read full review »

I like listening to Cory, aka Real IronDad. He has great insight into health and fitness, and has very fascinating guests. I recommend you listen to an episode or two and see for yourself. It’s the way to be your best….the best dad, parent, friend, whatever.
