This podcast is by far one of the best and most effective ways for beginners to get a start learning conversational Persian/Farsi. Leyla is an incredible teacher whose teaching style, easy-to-understand explanations, and eloquence in both the English and Persian languages makes listening to the podcast a pleasure. After I encountered an issue purchasing the bonus material, I received a prompt and personalized response- a testament not only to the quality of the podcast but also to the customer service.
There is an unfortunate lack of quality self-study materials available for native English speakers trying to learn Persian. And those products that are effective are almost invariably expensive, which can easily discourage people from even starting the learning process. Chai & Conversation's method- offering excellent podcasts free of charge in addition to generously priced bonus material- is a great solution. The lessons are geared toward developing practical conversational skills for the casual learner but at the same time they don't exclude those with long-term goals of eventual fluency. Chai & Conversation's content, structure, and style are all wonderful and effective. The effort put into creating the lessons by Leyla, Matt, and anyone else who helps behind-the-scenes is tremendous and the $1-per-lesson price of the bonus material is so generously low that it can hardly be called a "price," and is more like a "donation". It truly reflects Chai & Conversation's commitment to accessible learning.
