Thought-Provoking and Considerate
Long-story-short: I'm a former Mormon who struggled to try to maintain faith in Christ and God after my disaffection from the LDS Church. More than six years ago now, I finally admitted to myself that I was no longer a theist or even a deist. It’s been a challenging yet fulfilling and beautiful journey. I discovered Ryan’s “Life After God” podcast early this year. So far I’ve listened to 26 of the 37 episodes available at this point. I appreciate Ryan’s approach because it maintains a certain respect for theists/believers. I imagine that most who listen to this podcast are like me—former believers. We may carry a lot of baggage in terms of resentment, sense of betrayal, but Ryan does a good job reminding us of some of the good our former world view may have provided and some of the wonderful people who still believe. In addition to that, I find the podcast entertaining, educational, and thought-provoking. I’d recommend this podcast to anyone trying to reconcile their beliefs in God with new ideas that challenge those beliefs or to those who are now trying to improve their life, with a reformed belief in God or with no belief in God. Thanks Ryan!Read full review »

Like Ryan, I am also a former SDA now non-theist and really appreciate his positive humanism views through this podcast. His guests give great perspectives on growing out of their original religious backgrounds and the real process that led them to where they are today.

Finally! This is the podcast our generation needs. We have a decade's worth of examination of religious thinking, of theological arguement and of rational reasoning in the podcast universe. It's time now to move from the abstract to the practical; time to move on to some workable...Read full review »
