159. "Cut sugar?! That's so extreme!": Teresa
Description
Teresa struggled with sugar addiction and health issues related to high sugar intake for years.
When her naturopath suggested she cut out sugar, she thought it was "extreme"!
But she did it - she cut out sugar, sweeteners, and refined carbs, cold turkey.
It worked for a while, but eventually, Teresa realized that it was extremely difficult and unsustainable long-term.
After further health issues and trauma, Teresa realized she needed to reduce sugar for her own health and future goals, not just because someone else said so. This shift in mindset helped her make sustainable changes.
Teresa faced a lot of social pressure and judgment when she changed her diet. People constantly questioned and mocked her food choices. They also thought cutting sugar was extreme!
Today, Teresa doesn't see how she eats as "extreme". In fact, she's more mindful about added/hidden sugars and makes intentional choices. And she feels free!
