“The idea of paying for a podcast might strike some people as absurd. Isn’t here so much great content out there for free? There is. But this podcast is worth the $5 per month hit to your bank account. Ray and Cam do a phenomenal job of researching and explaining a complex swath of classical history, all of it done with with great wit and insight. As someone who studied history in university I know that it’s very easy to make make history boring. Yet even an epic three hour podcast seems to flyby with this duo.
A small caveat: Cam has very strong political views. For some that might be a turnoff especially if you don’t lean to the Left. Don’t let it drive you off. There is so much good stuff going on.
PS - Love the musical interludes. I nearly fell over laughing while listening to Duran Duran’s Union of the Snake. It makes perfect sense when you listen to the podcast.”
