The offspring of Serial and The X-Files
Firstly, this podcast would not exist if it weren't for Serial. It adopts the same style, a very similar soundtrack and even the narration sounds eerily similar. But once you get past the feeling of "rip-off", it starts to become really engrossing. Whereas Serial was real life, this is pure fiction, a story with a conclusion (hopefully). Having recently listened to the audio-book of Max Brooks' World War Z , there's a lot of similarity there too, and The X-Files also gets a nod. This is a paranormal/thriller investigation into a weird fictional event played out like a real documentary, and so far, things are looking interesting. Bring on episode 2.Read full review »
