An incredibly informative podcast about the modern realities about the climate between the UK and Iran and how the tensions are playing out in the nation’s capital.
Jabz133 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/25/23
Advice to Paul: as another reviewer said, episode 1 was slow at times, very drawn out and too wordy, could have been ‘compacted’, maybe less episodes, but would make it even more engaging. Faster speaking perhaps

👍🏻👍🏻

Another absolute belter from Paul and tortoise. A bit slow in episode 1 but it takes off from 2 onwards. It has it all; politics, spying, deception, death squads. This shines a light into the murky world of death squads on UK streets acting as agents of Iranian foreign policy and our own...Read full review »

Unfortunately, this otherwise excellent podcast is tainted by quotes from the Iranian government agent and NIAC apologist posing as a reporter, Rana Rahimpour.

Another first class production from Tortoise. Well researched and presented. Compelling listening.

EDIT: Thank you for removing the paywall on the final episode of Season one, and I’m loving Season two even more than the first. Just please, learn from the past and don’t retroactively paywall this important reporting. Don’t become like the entertainment focused podcasts. No other investigative...Read full review »

Tortoise journalism is outstanding, illuminating and unique.

Brilliant podcast clearly explains exactly what went on with these people. I am a shocked and dismayed by our government…once again
remainer Rosy via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/06/23
Really interesting and an eye-opener for me. Pretty depressing though that we as a country have enabled and promoted these people. Once again I ask myself why there are no long term strategies for dealing with such corruption - as with many other issues in our country - no planning. Nothing but...Read full review »

Another incredibly impressive series from Paul and Tortoise. Properly ambitious investigative journalism in such a compelling format.

Great podcast - I couldn’t believe my ears!! Millions of Brits will not and never be aware what goes on at the top. Great piece of research work team. Definitely recommend.

Cannot recommend this enough. Every British citizen should be aware of the sinister workings of government and its link to dirty money and how easily and cheaply power can be bought by those who only wish us harm. It should be compulsory for everyone to listen to this in order to make a judgement...Read full review »

A real eye opener. The scale of corruption in the upper echelons of the political classes and the wealthy is both incredible and yet sadly quite believable. Excellent work

Excellent fact filled pod…..great listen 👍
Blodge75 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/25/22
An exceptionally impact podcast with a long term view of the influence oligarchs have had in the U.K. The narrator does a good job of limiting editorialising until the last episode. Instead, the facts as they unfold hold up a mirror to British society - the reflection gives pause for thought
ColliewogWakefield via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/14/22
Whoever Produced & Directed this needs to learn how to tell a story! A fascinating story told in such a laborious & tedious way that you’re just dying for the storyteller to get to the point, get to the reveal……please to listen to successful, comparative podcasts to learn how it’s done!...Read full review »

Every adult in UK should listen to this.
enriart via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/05/22
Three episodes in and I'm not sure I've learned anything eye-opening from this show yet but will keep going. It's hard to be outraged by rich Russian oligarchs buying failing, second-tier British newspaper to peddle influence given what Rupert Murdoch has already done to the UK press,...Read full review »

I knew Boris Johnson was corrupt and a liar but never realised HOW corrupt he is.

We were warned by our closest allies that our financial system was full of dirty money and the reach of Russian influence to the top of society. Our own intelligence services warned of breach in security and compromise of certain public figures. Yet it all happened and some of it in full public...Read full review »

Great journalism, brilliantly presented, even great soundtrack too. Scary stuff, and all carried out under our noses. London clearly is the financial capital of dirty money. Can’t help but feel we’d not be able to operate without it. And it’s not just the Russians at it I’m sure… Good work by...Read full review »

This beautifully produced and written podcast is, nonetheless, earth-shattering in its revelations of corruption and craven greed at the heart of our political system. Everyone should listen - and act. Well done to all involved.
Fletchberg via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/17/22
The hidden world of corruption and complicity in Britain with Russian oligarchs and Putin is unveiled. It shocks me how involved our politicians and members of government are, and how motivated they are by money and power. Boris Johnson’s role in this is very alarming. I hope the more people like...Read full review »

Top notch journalism and very well presented. As a Brit, I found it fascinating and infuriating and disturbing and depressing. But I’m still glad that I listened because we should know about the activities (and betrayals) of those in power. It would be great if Boris Johnson could be held...Read full review »

Boris is such a car crash, surprised he makes it into somewhat presentable clothes every morning. Also Evgeny’s English accent is ridiculous. He sounds like he may fall into sudden mid-sentence coma anytime.

A must listen for all those interested in UK politics and the influence of Russia on the Tory party

Merci pour cette excellente série. C’était pour moi une découverte la présence russe en Angleterre. Très inquiétant aussi. Bravo pour votre enquête. Mathilde

The most important podcast you are likely to listen to in the this year definitely, but maybe even the last decade or two…. especially if you are a British citizen. Listen and review, this is historic.
