Longform interviews about longform writing. I listen to learn about writing craft and method, and also about the career paths of professional writers. I end up learning a lot about the writers' passions, whether that be Afghanistan, pre-mature births, or psychedelic drugs. I’ve also learned a lot about the homes for good writing (i.e. which publications to watch) and am interested in every guest’s take on the future of journalism in the internet age. I listen whether or not I recognize the name of the guest, and am usually pleased. There were some severe sound issues in the beginning, but as the podcast matures the sound improves.Read full review »

Really solid podcast about journalism and current affairs. The interviewer asks really interesting, pertinent questions and there have been some fascinating conversations. Easily my favourite podcast. Weekly, wonderful low key interviews with non-fiction writers. The format works so well to reveal some of the most interesting, intense, deeply intelligent, eloquent, thoughtful people who live lives so much more fully than you or me.
