Disappointing
Started off strong, but continues to go down hill. They haven’t presented anything new or pivotal. They also act as though they are the ones that came up with the using the camera as a flashlight theory after piecing it together during the investigation. When, in actuality, it is something that has been long theorized and predates their investigation. There’s lots of exposition and unnecessary fluff (like when they couldn’t get their satellite phones to work). They also talk in a circle, misdirect, and over explain. For example, they detail across two episodes about this forensic anthropologist and how he is afraid to talk and doesn’t want his name disclosed. They also discuss it right before meeting with him. However, immediately upon talking to him, Mariana goes “we understand you don’t want your identity revealed—what’re you so fearful of???” We understand his fears. We don’t need all this exposition.

They hook you with an intriguing story, but no parts of the “investigation” actually finds out anything relevant or unveils anything. It’s a lot of wasted time. Haven’t finished quite yet but hoping we learn one thing by the end. This probably could have been done in one episode.

I am hooked! I’ve heard this story on other podcasts before, but never an in depth look. I’m finding out so much I didn’t know and cannot wait for more!
