“I've listened to 6 episodes so far and the mystery is pretty good but I can't stand the sound effects. There are two loud beeps between every single "message" and I understand what they are going for but it is used WAY too much. It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many random messages being ended and started throughout an episode. The breaks don't make any sense either. Why would Anna hang up just to call back every few seconds to record some random audio like of her running through the house or just to say "Mabel."
The broken audio style is used in other podcast effectively but it makes no sense when these are supposed to be messages recoreded on a answering machine or voicemail. I understand the beeping is there to make things seem more realistic but then the audio doesn't sound like its coming from a phone and there is music added which makes it completely unrealistic anyway (although I do like the music)... Its not adding anything to the story to have these beeps in here so I hope they aren't there as much in later episodes.”Read full review »
