Cool story, but doesn't sound authentic
I have listened to every episode and will continue to, because I enjoy the story. However... the way that it is read and produced is extremely disappointing and takes you out of the story. The narrator over-annunciates ever word and the recording is much too quiet. I don't "believe" her when she says she's in the attic... or the garden... or rummaging through papers... or anywhere but a sound booth. I don't believe her when she's supposed to be terrified or sad or worried because everything is recited with the same careful, steadied "radio" voice. It's supposed to be stream-of-conscious voice mails, but it sounds like rehearsed script reading. Again, it's a shame because the story is really unique. I think the writer should not have also narrated and produced the show. Becca, don't worry about it sounding so perfect! Imperfections are beautiful and natural.Read full review »
