I have never been a pod cast kind of person but after my former bossman keep nagging me to try them out i gave in and looked and looked and then i ran across this pod cast and it just hooked me .. all i listen to now is this pod cast and the (MOBBED UP) pod cast.. i can somewhat relate to every...Read full review »

I think you guys should work a little harder on your research or hire real experts. I listened to the Giancana episode and I came away frustrated because it seems no matter how much a myth is debunked, these so-called "experts" keep rehashing bull****. JFK and his father DID NOT get help...Read full review »

There are way too many ads is there a way to listen to this podcast without any ads

This is one of the best podcasts I’ve followed. The stories are (obviously) engaging, but what sets this apart from others, is the chronological order, historical context, interviews with “people who were there, and detailed delivery. Excellent.

Great show & very interesting but the constant ads interrupt the shows. Seems a two part show could be condensed into one w/o all the ads

Interesting content but I’m unsubscribing due to the amount of ads.

It’s a good show but if I was one of the guests I’d be upset that I’m being cut off mid sentence by advertising.

Great pod, awesome story telling absolutely perfect mix of narration, story telling and witness accounts. One of the greatest subject matters NYC has to offer. So much fun to listen to. Please set the Add volume to a lower level. I listen to most of my Pods with headphones while I’m commuting....Read full review »

Way too many ads. Do them all at once.

Good job on making this podcast! It’s one of the most interesting ones I’ve listened to on my dads phone in the car! GG

Great series with well researched info. Shame about the really annoying ads though, often appearing mid sentence. The worst is the Devils in the dark ad with an awful plug.
Thubs.. via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/16/22
7 mins of ads in a 29 min episode is excessive. Plus, they are really intrusive, often cutting the speaker off in the middle of a word (one particularly annoying advert is also for a podcast with some posh girl glibly laughing and joking about serial killers, which is pretty tasteless). The...Read full review »

St. Claire's story is wrapped in modern day social justice jargon. This makes these episodes highly questionable.Read full review »

The ads are SO bad. The show is fantastically made but the ads are very intrusive. Sometimes cutting in mid sentence at a HIGHER volume than the show. Not cool. Keep doing what you’re doing but think about structuring and presenting the ads better. I know they are necessary for a free show but...Read full review »

The commercials are way too long. I understand sponsorships, but when the commercials take up most of the podcast one seems to lose interest. Therefore the sponsorship does no good.

Mafia stands out in a genre known for low quality podcasts for its consistently strong storytelling and narrative arcs. Having Fleet Cooper do the ad reads, is like having the Cryptkeeper tell you about his therapist or what phone games he likes to play. He’s a fine (if over the top) host,...Read full review »

Great storytelling but more adverts than story. In short episodes must be 10 mins of adverts!!!

His attempt to make the word mafia sound edgy, and make himself sound like an old gumshoe ruins this otherwise good podcast. The interviews are good, limit/massively reduce the narrator and this will be so much better.

The episodes are fairly short to begin with and the ad to content ratio is quite askew. Good stories and content but not worth the amount of commercials/ads thrown in. If you enjoy pressing on FF repeatedly throughout a podcast, have fun. If not, then pass.

I really enjoy Mafia. While it has tended to make being a gangster glamorous, they also do highlight the violence and corruption. Not so with the most recent episodes on Stephanie St. Clair. This is one of my favorite podcasts but I’m very disappointed in season 4 and after halfway through episode 2 I will not be listening to the rest of the season. 99% of the time I’m a huge fan of each of these podcasts but-The Stephanie St Claire episode was AWFUL. woke politics of the present day should have nothing to do with this podcast or it’s subject matter. I’ve always liked this show, but there’s far too many ads. It seems like I’m not the only one who feels this way, based off other reviews. Also they just kind of say the same things over and over again. It’s disappointing.
